Exhibition of antique toys from the 19th and 20th centuries.
from 15.05 to 03.06
We invite you on a sentimental journey to the world of old toys. Visitors to our Shopping Centre from May 15th to June 3rd will be able to see an exhibition of unique toy models that can now only be found in museums or private collections. The oldest exhibit – a rocking horse made of natural materials is almost 160 years old!
Among the exhibits available at the exhibition there will be toys from the 19th century, the interwar period and the years of the People’s Republic of Poland. Polish celluloid dolls from the 1940s or a German doll produced by “Herman Pensky” in the years 1911-1930 may be of interest. Visitors to the gallery will recognize among the model toys known from childhood, i.e., AZAK cars from the 1970s and 1980s, metal cars of various sizes, mechanical toys wound with a key or sawdust teddy bears. There will be old projectors for displaying fairy tales made of photographic plates, children’s sewing machines and typewriters. The exhibition will be diversified by old photos of children with toys as well as newspapers for children, such as “Koziołek Matołek”, “Świerszczyk” or “Miś”.
We have also prepared a surprise for the youngest on the occasion of Children’s Day. On Saturday, June 3rd, children visiting the Shopping Centre will be able to ride an old car.
The exhibition can be viewed during the working hours of the Shopping Centre, i.e., from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 to 21.00.
